Quail is an ancient game played by the citizens of Flocksworth.
It can be played with either dice or cards, with the game varying slightly.
The objective of the game is always to get as close to 7 as possible.
In DICE MODE, one die will be rolled. The value of this "table die" will be the starting value.
Each player rolls two dice, a white one and a red one.
The white die adds value while the red die subtracts value.
Each player can choose to reroll any of their dice to try to get a better value.
In CARDS MODE, one card will be drawn. Black cards are positive and red cards are negative.
The value of this first "table card" will be the starting value.
Each player is dealt two cards.
Each player can choose to redraw any amount of cards they have one time to try to get a better value.
Aces are worth 1, Jacks are worth 11, Queens are worth 12, and Kings are worth 13. X is 10.
These games were designed to be simple and easily playable in real-life.
In these prototypes, money is only for tracking how much you've won and lost. Each wager is $10.
The computer-controlled opponent is incredibly simple, but don't underestimate it!
